Anti-corruption expertise

An anti-corruption expertise of 24 legal acts was carried out, 15 of which revealed 49 corruption factors.

Out of 231 appeals in total (including 6 appeals received through the Call Center):

189 appeals considered (42 appeals are under consideration)

Ensuring the openness of the activities of government bodies and organizations

Draft recommendations and action plans have been developed to further improve the activities of government bodies and organizations to ensure openness that fell into the red (15) and yellow (44) categories of the Openness Index.

The state of live broadcasts of sessions of the Councils of People’s Representatives for 2022 was analyzed.

Public relations and activities of the National Council

Training on the topic ‘Improving the capacity of journalists and bloggers in Uzbekistan to conduct investigative journalism related to corruption issues’ conducted jointly with the Center for Retraining of Journalists;

Workshop themed ‘Results of the rating assessment of the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures in government bodies and organizations, including local executive bodies’ conducted for regional anti-corruption councils;

Meeting of the Public Council under the Anti-Corruption Agency.

Meetings with representatives of international organizations

representatives of the Agency met with Yucel Erduran, Program Manager at the Council of Europe, to identify target areas for the implementation of activities within the Promoting Transparency and Action Against Economic Crime Program and further close cooperation in 2023;

discussion of the development and implementation of the Action Plan 2023-2024 within the framework of the project ‘Assistance in the fight against corruption in Uzbekistan’ between the Director of the Agency and Acting OSCE Project Coordinator, Hans-Ullrich Ihm;

developing proposals and establishing close cooperation between the Agency and representatives of the mission of the UNDP Istanbul Regional Center to support and increase the effectiveness of reforms in the administrative and public service in Uzbekistan;

discussing the process of implementation of the Reform Matrix adopted within the framework of the Economic Management Improvement Program between representatives of the Agency and the Asian Development Bank;

discussing the prospects for bilateral cooperation between the Agency leadership and representatives of the Nagoya University of Economics, Japan.

Business trips to foreign countries

The delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by the Agency Director, made a working trip to Estonia and Finland.
