The Anti-Corruption Agency Conducted a Seminar on the Practice of Assessing Corruption Risks

On January 21, the Anti-Corruption Agency held an online seminar for more than 200 employees of internal anti-corruption control (compliance control) units of government agencies and organizations to discuss the procedure for using E-anticor.uz electronic platform and the practice of assessing corruption risks.

This event is another in a series of trainings regularly organized by the Agency in order to improve the knowledge and skills of employees of internal anti-corruption control units and provide them with methodological assistance.

From September 1, 2022, a procedure for mandatory assessment of corruption risks in the activities of government and administrative bodies, including their territorial divisions, state unitary enterprises and institutions, organizations with a state share of more than 50 percent, was introduced.

According to it, by March 1 of each year, in accordance with the Methodology for Corruption Risks Assessment, approved by the Agency, based on internal and external sources of information, corruption risks in the activities (tasks and functions) of a government organization are detected, and the level of corruption risks is classified as low, medium, high.

In particular, in 2024, out of 7,525 functions of 101 government bodies and organizations, 495 rated ‘high’ for the level of corruption risk, 1,541 assessed as ‘medium’, and 5,489 – ‘low’, and based on these results an electronic Register of Corruption-Prone Relations was formed.

The seminar discussed the procedures, criteria, frequency and measures that must be taken based on the assessment results to identify and properly assess corruption risks. Using practical examples, the issue of creating corruption risk maps was considered, including a description and level of each identified corruption risk, as well as measures to eliminate them.

The seminar also made focus on the procedure for entering data on E-anticor.uz electronic platform.

The participants were provided with the necessary information and recommendations for preventing and reducing corruption risks.
