Misappropriation of Budget Funds During the Purchase of Computers Revealed

The Anti-Corruption Agency has conducted a study in Ferghana, Namangan, Tashkent, Sirdarya and Jizzakh regions of the technical characteristics of computers and other electronic equipment that were purchased at the expense of budgetary funds by SUE Ukuv Talim-Taminot within the framework of the One Million Programmers Project.

The study showed that the computers did not fully comply with the requirements specified in the contract.

The Anti-Corruption Agency submitted all collected materials to the Department for Combating Economic Crimes for a legal assessment of the actions of those responsible.

A pre-investigation audit showed that an agreement was drawn up between SUE Ukuv Talim-Taminot and LLC Smart Sales Leader, according to which the company was supposed to supply additional electronic equipment, but they were not supplied, and budget funds totaling 919 million 360 thousand soums were stolen through misappropriation.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against officials of SUE Ukuv Talim-Taminot and LLC Smart Sales Leader under paragraph A of Part 3 of Article 167, as well as paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
