Anti-Corruption Measures Studied in Andijan Region
The Republican interdepartmental working group has conducted studies in Qo’rghontepa and Jalaquduq districts, as well as in Khonobod city in Andijan Region for to ensure the implementation of the instructions of the head of state to conduct an in-depth study of areas with a high risk of corruption, as well as factors of everyday and systemic corruption.
The working group began its work by studying the measures taken to combat corruption in the mahallas (communities), existing problems and shortcomings, crime prevention, as well as the activities of the “mahalla seven”.

In particular, in Yangi Hayot mahalla of Qo’rghontepa District the working group studied the state of preventive measures and factors that create conditions for corruption, as well as the work carried out by the “mahalla seven” to ensure the population employment and increase intolerance to corruption.
Currently, the Safe Corridor project is being implemented in the multi-story buildings of this mahalla, within the framework of which an emergency call bell, an electronic lock, and a facial recognition camera have been installed in the corridors of the buildings to prevent and detect various violations.

Similar studies were conducted in Aqcha and Beshkaram mahallas of Jalaquduq District, and in Khontog mahalla of Khonobod city, and meetings were also organized with members of the “mahalla sevens” and local residents.

The working group also paid special attention to the state of work on preventing corruption in healthcare institutions in the districts.

In particular, measures to eliminate corruption risks in the provision of free and paid medical services, provision of medical equipment and medicines, and selection of medical personnel were studied.

During the studies, problems and shortcomings in the implementation of measures to prevent corruption were identified, and instructions and tasks were given to responsible persons to eliminate them.
The working group will continue its studies in the region.
